The 50 Pound Challenge – Week 14

I felt really good going into this week. I did not have the best exercising week but it was decent. I also started eating fruit again and I have been getting 3 meals out of every meal that I either order from take-out or cook. All of this led to another good week.

I started out the week doing 15 miles on the stationary bike on Thursday. I was not able to work out on Friday because of work. Saturday the wind was crazy where I live. Many trees were down and there were many people without power. The wind was so bad that even though it was sunny out I was not able to do anything outside. Sunday was the same. Monday I was able to do 16 miles on the stationary bike which was good for another 400 calories burned. Wednesday night I ran 2 miles for 200 calories burned. I have also kept my eating in check. For example I could have ordered fries with my lunch on Tuesday but I didn’t. I didn’t even order chips or pretzels. I thought about the way I would feel after eating my sandwich by itself and I knew I would be satisfied so I didn’t need to have any more calories added to my plate. So what has all of this work and disciplined eating gotten me for this week?

I am now down to an even 200 pounds. That is a 15 pound loss for me! I am so looking forward to next week where I hope to be under the 200 pound mark. I know I can do it! I am getting so much stronger and more fit which leads me to burn even more calories. Thinking through my meals before I order or make them helps me out tremendously. So that’s 15 pounds in 17 weeks (I’ve only been blogging about this for 14 weeks) so I’m now only 2 pounds behind. Let’s see if I can erase that 2 pounds and get back to even with a mega bike ride this weekend!

I had to stop and think about how much 15 pounds is since it is no longer a part of me. 15 pounds is the equivalent to my 6 month old daughter. 15 pounds is two gallons of water. That’s a lot! And I’m proud of it. But it’s just the beginning. On to the next 15 pounds!
